Social media has varying opinions on the veterab linebacker requesting a trade.

The Cincinnati Bengals and their fans got a bit of a surprise Wednesday when veteran linebacker Germaine Pratt requested a trade from the team.

One of the first draft picks of the Zac Taylor and Lou Anarumo era for this team, Pratt is now potentially looking to bounce like his defensive coordinator, who was fired following the season. It appears he may have a market.

Some are less than sure of what the Bengals can actually get in return for him.

It also shows how polarizing of a player he has been lately that there is a huge discrepancy in how fans feel about his departure.

One thing everyone can agree on is how many great moments he has had in this era for the Bengals.

Pratt was already a veteran the team could cut and save a sizable amount of money and cap space on to use this offseason elsewhere.

He simply isn't a 3-down linebacker in the league, and a replacement at linebacker is an easy place to save money on the market in the NFL, either through the draft/ undrafted free agents or just regular free agency.

That doesn't make Pratt's place in this era any more valued or important. You can recognize the team can probably bounce from this while also looking back on his play fondly. Hopefully he lands on his feet wherever he goes.
