After an up-and-down rookie year, Bullard still has plenty of potential.
The Packers have no shortage of exciting and interesting young players. Matthew Golden has drawn all kinds of attention since the moment he appeared on the draft stage in the Lambeau Field parking lot, and he’s hardly alone, even in the receiver room. Jayden Reed is still plenty exciting, and Dontayvion Wicks still qualifies as a giant basket of potential.
And on defense, Edgerrin Cooper certainly qualifies as exciting — he could be an All-Pro this season after earning a vote for that honor last season. Beyond him, rookies Barryn Sorrell and Collin Oliver are certainly interesting, and Evan Williams figures to be a key fixture in the secondary this year as well.
I think Javon Bullard ends up being conspicuous by his absence in these kinds of discussions. It says a lot about how his rookie season played out that there doesn’t appear to be any kind of excitement around Bullard heading into year two.
But maybe there should be. Even if bullard was disappointing as a rookie, he’s still an important part of the safety room, and may also be a contributor in the slot. He was one of the top safeties in his draft class and still could have potential yet to be unlocked. Maybe we should be a bit more optimistic about how his second season could play out.
Bullard definitely had an up and down rookie year, but maybe there’s some reason for optimism.
As a point of fact, his name actually was John McNally, which is what causes the confusion. This is a topic worth exploring, though.
Golden is fast, that we know for sure.
Some bold Packers-related takes in here, both positive and negative.
Offseason softball is always a good time, and this year’s Packers softball game was no exception.
I’d do it for cheese.
