Green Bay Packers training camp is in full swing, which means some players are receiving heavy praise while others are taking criticism. Third-year tight end Tucker Kraft falls into the latter category.
Kraft was under the microscope after Packers head coach Matt LaFleur’s very public criticism about fumbling issues early on in Packers practice. Kraft has been responsible for two fumbles thus far, and LaFleur recently used the 24-year-old as an example during a recent discussion with reporters.
Later, when Kraft was asked about LaFleur’s criticism, the tight end had a sarcastic response, almost as if he wasn’t taking his head coach’s comments seriously.
The Packers have only held five practices so far. Yet, it’s understandable that LaFleur would want to get on his team early, before they develop any bad habits. At the same time, Kraft fumbling in late July shouldn’t be too much of a concern for a team that doesn’t play their first game until September 7.
