Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh was hoping Sunday would be a get-right game for the Ravens, but it ended up being a 44-10 blowout loss to the Houston Texans at M&T Bank Stadium.
The Ravens were tabbed as Super Bowl favorites prior to the start of the season, but a slew of injuries and horrendous defensive play as left Baltimore at 1-4 through five weeks. The Ravens have allowed 41, 17, 38, 37 and 44 points in five games.
Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson (hamstring) was inactive for Sunday’s game. Brian Wacker of The Baltimore Sun reports that Jackson could be out for up to 2-3 weeks. The Ravens host the Los Angeles Rams in Week 6 and then have a bye week.
Jackson suffered the hamstring injury in Sunday’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. In Jackson’s absence, Cooper Rush completed 9 of 13 passes for 52 yards.
Rush started in place of Jackson against Houston. To say the least, it was a brutal afternoon for the veteran QB. He completed 14 of 20 passes for 179, zero touchdowns, three interceptions, and a passer rating of 58.1.
Ravens All-Pro running back Derrick Henry continues to struggle this season, rushing for only 33 yards on 15 carries (2.2 average) against the Texans.
“It’s just a complete disappointment,” Harbaugh said after the game. “We’re going to have to find a way to turn it around, figure out who we are this next week, into the bye and out of the bye. We have more than half of the season left, we’re gonna have to find ourselves. That’s what our aim will be moving forward.”
Harbaugh said he doesn’t think it’s the answer to make a change with defensive coordinator Zach Orr.

The Ravens were without several key players on Sunday. In addition to Jackson, linebacker Roquan Smith (hamstring) and cornerbacks Chidobe Awuzie (hamstring) and Marlon Humphrey (calf) were out.
Star defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike will miss the rest of the 2025 season with a neck injury.
Madubuike, 27, was placed on the injured reserve list last Saturday. Harbaugh was vague in providing details about the specific diagnosis for Madbuike and how the Ravens ascertained that he will be out for the season.
Not having Madubuike for the rest of the season is a massive loss for Baltimore’s ailing defense.
Earlier in the day, the Cleveland Browns lost to the Minnesota Vikings, 21-17, in London. Baltimore and Cleveland are both 1-4, while Cincinnati (2-2) is playing the Detroit Lions this afternoon. The Pittsburgh Steelers (3-1) could head into Week 6 with a sturdy lead in the AFC North.
The Steelers, who are currently on their bye week, host the Browns next Sunday.
