Hey may stay put.

Cincinnati Bengals senior personnel executive Trey Brown has been a hot name in the last two offseasons. In 2024, he got interest from the Raiders and Patriots for their GM spots before ultimately returning to Cincinnati.

This cycle, he interviewed with the New York Jets twice before the ultimately settled on Darren Mougey and was in the mix for the Jacksonville Jaguars’ general manager job as well. Brown has gotten so much attention that it seems like a matter of time before he becomes a GM somewhere.

That somewhere won’t be Jacksonville, though. Saturday, a list of finalists for the job was released and Brown’s name didn’t appear on the list.

Jacksonville fired Trent Baalke in an effort to lure new head coach Liam Coen away from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It appears Coen had no interest in working with Baalke.

Brown may be back in Cincinnati for 2025, at least, but he will likely get looks as more vacancies open up in the future.
