The Pittsburgh Steelers need a quarterback with Russell Wilson hitting free agency, and it seems like Justin Fields isn’t an option in 2025.
So they could grab on of the other free agents … or make a splashy trade.
MORE ON THE STEELERS: What’s ahead this offseason
Which brings us to a trade rumor report that popped up on Thursday from reporter Ryan Burr: “Steelers have made inquiries to the [Jaguars] about a trade for QB Trevor Lawerence. This directly from the horses mouth in the Jags organization. WOW!”
OK, so: no further confirmation there. But it seems like a thing that could have happened. Trade inquiries happen all the time and they could result in a “NO!” or a “LOL!” before the inquiree (is that a word?) hangs up the phone.
But sometimes, those calls turn into Luka Doncic trades. And when it comes to Lawrence, it’s an intriguing buy-low opportunity for a team that maybe thinks it can do something with T-Law.
So … we’ll see!

Bigger picture, kicking the tires on Lawerence with ownership. Smart to exhaust every option when you currently have NONE. https://t.co/jGvV4UNfAJ
