Trevon Diggs time in Dallas is coming to an end

Trevon Diggs time in Dallas is coming to an end
Inside The Star Inside The Star

It feels like every single week the situation with Trevon Diggs gets more weird.

Diggs said he expected to play against the Minnesota Vikings after a two-month absence from a concussion and a stint on injured reserve with a right knee injury. On Saturday, he was told he would be inactive again.

Yet, after the game, owner and general manager Jerry Jones said, “Diggs isn’t healthy enough to be out there for us. Period.” I don’t know about you, but it really is starting to feel like we may not see Diggs back with Dallas in 2026.

Cap Space

Let’s play this game, shall we? If something is truly going on between Diggs and ownership, then it needs to be settled. I still hate the fact that Jerry Jones tries to make all these calls on whether someone is going to play or not.

It is not your job as the owner to do that, let the head coach be the head coach.

If Dallas wants to move on from him, and it is looking more and more likely, they could save a little bit.

Cutting Diggs before June 1st, the Dallas Cowboys could save about $12.5 million in salary cap space for the 2026 season, while waiting until after June 1st would allow them to save even more, potentially up to $15.5 million, with less dead cap impact.

"When he is practicing, he's not convincing the ones that make those decisions. He's not convincing them that he's ready to make those kinds of plays."

The Dallas defense led by Matt Eberflus has been the worst in football, and Diggs was not great when he was in the lineup, but not having a $100 million dollar corner on the field for two months is an issue.

I am not sure what is going to happen, but now that Dallas is all but out of the playoffs, Jerry Jones says that the starters are going to finish the year, so maybe we will see Diggs. I have no idea.

What I do know, though, is that they will probably win two of the next three games and have the 15th pick in the NFL draft.

If i had to bet though, I would say that we are starting to see the end of Diggs in Dallas. We still have no idea what he even did in his home to give him the concussion in the first place.

This has been such a disappointing year with how good the offense has been, and now we may see a defense in 2026 without Micah Parson or Trevon Diggs.
