After a disagreement with the organization, the Dallas Cowboys decided to release cornerback Trevon Diggs. As he prepares to begin the next part of his NFL career, Diggs has turned to an agent who knows about leaving the Cowboys.

The cornerback has hired David Mulugheta of Athletes First to represent him, via Adam Schefter. That’s the same agent as Green Bay Packers star Micah Parsons.

Diggs saw Mulugheta help Parsons land a new four-year, $188 million contract with the Packers. He is now turning to him for guidance in 2025 and beyond. While Diggs will want to join a playoff contender immediately, he’ll also need to be thinking of his fit and contract long-term.

The cornerback offers quite the resume as he enters free agency; assuming he isn’t claimed off of waivers, Over his six years with the Cowboys, Diggs put up 240 tackles, 63 passes defended and 20 interceptions. He broke onto the scene in 2021, leading the league with 11 interceptions. Overall, Diggs was named to the Pro Bowl twice and an All-Pro once while in Dallas.

But now, he’ll be looking to join a team in need of a quarterback. It has been a down season for Diggs, but perhaps a change of scenery is what he needs to be rejuvenated. If signed beyond the 2025 campaign, that team would hope he could be a crucial contributor after a full season.

With Mulugheta now helping lead the way, Diggs will begin searching for his next team barring a waiver claim. They’ll hope his ballhawk status returns now away from the Cowboys.
