One of the best additions the Patriots made this offseason was drafting rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft.
Henderson played a crucial role in reshaping New England’s backfield, making second-year quarterback Drake Maye’s journey much smoother and helping him develop into an exceptional player.
Henderson, who has an excellent vantage point to watch Maye each week, spoke about how impressive Maye is as a team player.
“It’s great being able to play alongside Drake,” Henderson said on Sunday. “I always mention he’s such a great leader. I see him each and every day, he works real hard. Even after practice. I feel like it just carries on throughout this whole team.”
Maye had a fantastic performance in the Patriots’ 42-10 victory against the New York Jets on Sunday, throwing for 256 yards and five touchdowns.
Henderson and Maye need to put together a few more standout performances in the coming weeks to help ensure the Patriots win every postseason game they play in.
