Here is a look at how the Las Vegas Raiders’ 2023 draft class fared a 41-24 loss at the Washington Commanders in Week 3 and a look ahead at Sunday’s home game against the Chicago Bears. Kickoff is set for 1:25 p.m. PT.
Tyree Wilson:
The No. 7 overall draft pick snap count went up from 14 in Week 2 to 22 in Week 3. Still, it’s a big decrease from Week 1 when he had 38 snaps. Wilson had two tackles at Washington and didn’t make an impact. We’re three games into his third season and he remains what he has been — a backup who flashes now and then, but is mostly an afterthought. That can change, but the clock is ticking.
Michael Mayer:
The second-round pick from Notre Dame played just five offensive snaps and three on special teams when he went out with a concussion on a scary looking play. He had no catches on one target before he departed the game. It remains to be seen if he will be cleared to play in Week 4. He did not practice Wednesday.
Tre Tucker:
The speedy third-round pick was the bright spot in a lousy day in Washington. He had a career day with eight catches for 145 yards and three touchdowns catches. He is the first Raiders’ wide receiver ever to have four touchdown catches through the first three games of the season. Tucker has often flashed, but he has failed to consistency put up starting quality numbers depsite playing starter’s snaps. It will go a long way for him if he can produce big again Sunday after his garage-time fireworks Sunday. He’s clearly capable of it.
Chris Smith:
The fifth-round safety from Georgia played one defensive snap after playing two in Week 2. He played 21 snaps on special teams.
