Travis Kelce is finally breaking his silence over one tweet that he sent out 15 years ago.

Easter Sunday 2025 came and went on April 20 without Kelce’s public acknowledgment. Unfortunately for him, he was still trending on social media.

Some folks dug up the NFL star’s old tweet from 15 years ago.

On April 4, 2010, Kelce reportedly wrote, “happy easter to all!!! #shoutout to Jesus for takin one for the team…. haha.”

The tweet has since been deleted. However, screenshots of the Easter message recirculated on the social media platform now that Kelce has an even bigger spotlight on him.

Not being able to ignore it any longer, Travis is finally reflecting on that tweet during the latest episode of his New Heights podcast.

During the April 23 episode of their New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce podcast, the Kansas City Chiefs star tight end got roasted by his own brother,

“We have potentially the greatest tweet ever tweeted on Easter day. This is the best thing ever,” Jason said.

Travis replied, “This is so f—— dumb,” as Jason continued, “…This famously old tweet from Travis Kelce, ‘Happy Easter to all. Shout out to Jesus for taking one for the team.'”

“So ridiculous,” Travis responded while his brother laughed.

“My favorite part of it is the ‘Ha ha’ at the end.”

Travis Kelce explained, “Listen, I wanted to make sure everybody knew I was having a good time joking about this,” adding that he “couldn’t take it too serious.”

Travis Kelce Goes Into Detail About The Easter Tweet

In the recent episode of “New Heights,” Jason Kelce brought back his brother Travis Kelce’s old Easter tweet.

Jason had a fun time joking, saying that it was “potentially the greatest tweet ever tweeted on Easter Day.”

Eventually, Travis had to explain what happened on that day.

“We get school off for that holiday,” the NFL tight end revealed.

His brother jumps in and adds, “Was that why this was tweeted? I thought it was like a realization that this guy died for our sins, but it was really about the free day? That’s so good.”

“I was just using Twitter as like a diary,” Travis explained. “I’m just out here like saying nonsense, ‘I just gave a squirrel a piece of bread,’ and spelled squirrel like a jack–s.”
