Travis Hunter is more than just an athlete.

As jaw-dropping as Travis has been on the field during his life, his academic exploits at Colorado were equally impressive.

Following a tremendous college football career, where he ascended to stardom at Colorado on and off the field, two-way star Travis Hunter made his NFL preseason debut on Saturday.

The Jacksonville Jaguars, who traded four picks to move up for the No. 2 selection in the 2025 NFL Draft, are seeing their gamble pay off.

Aside from dominating on offense and defense, Hunter was also a superstar in the classroom.

It was reported back in December that the anthropology major had a cumulative GPA of 3.798. In the fall of 2023, Hunter earned a 4.0 GPA and followed that up with a spring 2024 semester GPA of 3.908, earning him first-team All-Academic Team honors.

At Colorado, Travis Hunter joined Joe Romig as the second player in CU history to be a first-team All-American and a first-team Academic All-American.

Hunter put the finishing touches on his college career by graduating from school in May. His graduation came weeks after the Jacksonville Jaguars selected him with the No. 2 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Hunter finished with a 4.0 GPA, was an anthropology major, and a two-time first-team academic All-American.

Last season, Hunter registered 96 receptions for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns.

As a defensive back, Hunter totaled four interceptions, one forced fumble, 11 passes defended, and 36 combined tackles, helping him earn Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year honors.

Travis Hunter Has High Expectations

Travis Hunter is expected to be a significant contributor for the Jacksonville Jaguars and help the team return to winning.

The Jaguars last had a winning season in 2017, when they finished 10-6 and won the AFC South.

Drafting a player like Hunter, who plays both ways, could bode well for the team in 2025.
