New England Patriots - NESN.com
The New England Patriots are enjoying a breakout campaign in 2025, as the team has ridden a seven-game win streak to an 8-2 record. No matter what happens the rest of the way this season, you can bet that the front office is going to be aggressive when it comes to upgrading the team’s roster over the offseason.
At the trade deadline, the Patriots ultimately stood pat, and given the astronomical prices players were going for, that may not be the worst thing. Several of New England’s top targets will be available over the offseason, and it seems like one in particular is trending towards being traded.
That player would be Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown. While he just won a Super Bowl with the Eagles last season, Brown has been quite frustrated with his lack of production this year. During a broadcast with popular Twitch streamer JankyRondo, Brown made several comments that will only fuel the trade rumors surrounding him.
“If you got me on fantasy, man, get rid of me,” Brown said on Tuesday night, seemingly voicing his frustration with the lack of opportunities he’s had to make plays this year.
Later in the stream, which featured the duo playing the popular “Madden 26” video game, Brown was looking at the big numbers he put up while playing with himself in the game. That led to him taking another shot at his team for the entire world to see.
“Nine for 168 (yards), two touchdowns … That’s the only highlights of the damn football I been living right now,” Brown said.
Even though the Patriots’ offense has been firing on all cylinders this season, there’s no doubt the team could still use some help at wide receiver. Brown, of course, previously played for New England’s head coach, Mike Vrabel, during their shared time together with the Tennessee Titans.
It’s looking increasingly likely that the Eagles will have to consider moving Brown over the offseason, as his frustrations with the team are becoming tough to ignore. For now, the Patriots will be focused on making the most of their 2025 campaign, but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them make a run for Brown over the offseason.
