NFL insider Dianna Russini has had an entertaining 2025 NFL season. She found herself at odds with the Philadelphia Eagles fans after claiming she was “right all along” about the Super Bowl LIX champions’ relationship with wide receiver AJ Brown.

The last year has shown that insiders have a huge ego and don’t hesitate to get in other people’s faces to defend their reports. Fox Sports’ Jordan Schultz did it with NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport in February 2025 at the NFL Combine.

More recently, ESPN’s Adam Schefter denied Rapoport’s report about the Baltimore Ravens disliking John Harbaugh before the team fired the coach following an 18-year relationship. Insiders take these inputs seriously, and Russini was the latest name to join the list.

Dianna Russini Went Off On Top Source On Head Coaching Hiring Process Misinformation

During a Wednesday appearance on Stugotz and Company, Diana Russini discussed how a “high-ranking” source gave her bad info about the head-coaching hiring process. They said NFL teams couldn’t hire head coaches until January 19, which wasn’t true.

“So what you heard me complaining/b—-ing about was a very high-ranking source had told me that teams cannot hire a head coach until Jan 19,” Russini said, via Awful Announcing. “This is a high-ranking person who is in the hiring process, OK? So, don’t you think that’s like a solid piece of information they would know?

“This is what the league just told me: ‘Go back to your source. That is not true. There’s a Jan. 19 reference, but it’s not connected to when a team could hire someone. So that is false. So, I now have to call this team and be like, ‘Oh, by the way, hire your coach! You don’t have to wait!”

Those details matter a lot, especially when you work in this industry.
