One of the best wide receivers still available is not interested in playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers this season.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been looking to add another playmaker since trading George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys last month. But one of the top available wide receivers is not interested in coming to Pittsburgh.

Free agent wide receiver Keenan Allen was recently asked if the Steelers signing of Aaron Rodgers would interest him in joining Pittsburgh, and he didn’t seem thrilled by the idea.

“There’s two sides to the story. I mean, A-Rod being a quarterback, of course that interests you,” Allen said during a TikTok livestream. “But Pittsburgh? No.”

Allen, 33, proved to still have some gas left in the tank last season with the Chicago Bears. In 2024, he caught 70 passes for 744 yards (10.6 average) and seven touchdowns, making him the most productive wide receiver left on the open market.

However, Allen is likely looking for a situation that will allow him to compete for a Super Bowl in his 13th NFL season. If he doesn’t think the Steelers will give him that opportunity, then they can cross him off their potential list of wide receivers.

Allen wasn’t willing to completely close the door on signing with Pittsburgh, though.

“But hey, you never know,” Allen said.

Allen would be an intriguing at for the Steelers, whose wide receiver room is quite thin after DK Metcalf — Calvin Austin III, Robert Woods, Roman Wilson, Scotty Miller, Ben Skowronek, Brandon Johnson, Lance McCutcheon, and Roc Taylor.

But Allen has primarily played in the slot for most of his career and Pittsburgh needs another outside option.

If the offseason progresses and neither side has found its fit, Allen may just end up in the black and gold. That decision wouldn’t come until later this summer, though.

Allen has recorded 974 catches for 11,274 yards and 66 touchdowns in his professional career.
