The Pittsburgh Steelers released their schedule Wednesday. The schedule features five games that will be a difficult task.
The NFL and the Pittsburgh Steelers released the full 17-game schedule for each team on Wednesday. The Steelers will be featured in five prime-time games, including a 9:30 AM kickoff in Ireland’s first-ever regular-season game. They also face a set of difficult games in 2025.
After last season, where the Steelers faced all six divisional foes and two Super Bowl teams in the final eight games, the league spread the divisional games out. However, they didn’t let up on the difficulty levels late in the season.
The Steelers, by far, have the toughest final stretch in the league. Of the nine final games, six will be against teams that either made the postseason or were alive through week 18 last year.
Here are the projected five most difficult games on the Steelers’ 2025 schedule.
Is this a bad time to mention Pittsburgh hasn’t won in Chicago since 1995? Since 1960, they have been a whopping 1-6 there as well.
On paper, this is a winnable game for Pittsburgh. They tend to play well against young quarterbacks, the Bears have questions on defense, and their offensive line remains shaky.
However, new Chicago head coach Ben Johnson proved to be a mad scientist in Detroit. He is on record saying he will live with turnovers if his offense can get explosive play. There’s no telling how it will look to this point in the season, but he managed to resurrect another number one overall pick’s career.
It goes without saying, Pittsburgh has the most woes on the road in divisional Thursday night contests. They have a 0-8 record in those contests.
Let’s not forget, since 2021, the Bengals with Joe Burrow at quarterback have averaged 29.8 points per game. The Bengals also inked Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins to long-term deals. On a short week, the Steelers will have a lot going against them.
The final six games feature four Super Bowl-caliber teams. Detroit remains one of those. After solidifying their offensive line, acquiring lethal offensive weapons, and molding an inconsistent but physical defense, Detroit will be favored in this one.
Dan Campbell got his first half-win against the Steelers in 2021. Campbell will want to make sure there are no ties in this contest. Pittsburgh will have one of the four big tests in the final stretch, including the Motor City.
Josh Allen loves to play against the Steelers. He is 4-1 against Pittsburgh, including postseason. Additionally, he has thrown for 1,274 yards, 11 touchdowns, and only three interceptions. The only loss he suffered was a 23-16 week one loss in 2021.
