Terry McLaurin wants a new deal.

McLaurin is preparing to enter the final year of his deal, so if Washington is unable to reach an agreement with him soon, it could cause significant issues heading into training camp.

While the Commanders have certainly not placed McLaurin on the trade block just yet, there does exist a world in which Washington may field trade offers for the 29-year-old.

Now, it should be noted that McLaurin turns 30 in September, which could complicate things for certain teams when striking a long-term pact with the two-time Pro Bowler.

However, the Ohio State product has posted five straight 1,000-yard campaigns and just completed a 2024 season in which he hauled in 82 receptions for 1,096 yards and 13 touchdowns. He is the type of wide receiver who can change the passing game.

That is why the next rumor is so intriguing.

A new viral rumor says the Los Angeles Chargers have their eye on Terry McLaurin and his contract situation.

If things don’t get resolved, McLaurin requesting a trade is not out of the realm of possibilities. If he does, the Chargers make the most sense as a trading partner.

McLaurin would be the ideal complement for Justin Herbert to fully show what he has in the tank.

Terry McLaurin No-Shows At Commanders’ OTAs

The Washington Commanders were one of the best stories in the NFL during the 2024 season. The Commanders won 12 games and made it all the way to the NFC Championship in a surprise season with a rookie quarterback.

During last week’s voluntary OTAs, Washington was without WR Terry McLaurin, which has led to speculation about his absence.

McLaurin is in the final year of his current contract, which could explain why he did not participate in voluntary work. McLaurin’s presence will always be missed, no matter what time of year it is.

It will be interesting to see if Terry McLaurin gets a new contract before the start of the 2025 season.
