Former NFL quarterback Tony Romo has made a career move that has made it abundantly clear where he stands on Donald Trump.

Romo will be back on TV soon, with the 2025 NFL season approaching. Given one of the most recent developments in his life, he now has other matters on his plate.

The CBS commentator played for the Dallas Cowboys from 2004 to 2016 and received a compliment from Trump in 2015 after getting hurt. Trump was not president at the time, but said that “The fact that Tony Romo got hurt is a terrible thing for the Dallas Cowboys.”

“I think Tony’s a great guy, I know him and he’s also a great football player, and it certainly will hurt Dallas,” he added.

Trump has also complimented Romo’s golf talent, claiming the ex-QB “may be a better golfer than a football player. I don’t know.”

Tony Romo Leaves Biggest Indicator Yet

While Trump has never been shy in praising Tony Romo, it hasn’t been mutual, as the four-time Pro Bowler has never shown any public support for the sitting president.

Still, he’s made his stance on the POTUS clear after the latter signed an executive order to revive the Presidential Fitness Test and brought back the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition last week.

“The Council will also play an important role in restoring tradition to college athletics, including reforming the broken transfer portal and keeping men out of women’s sports,” the White House announced.

Romo happens to be one of the members of said council and is among several notable sports personalities who were called up.

Saquon Barkley, Nick Bosa, Harrison Butker, Tua Tagovailoa, and Lawrence Taylor were all named to the council.

If that doesn’t tell you where Romo’s allegiance lies, nothing will.
