All-time great quarterback Tom Brady hinted at a potential football comeback in his 50s via an Instagram post, following a display of his impressive career statistics.
The post highlighted his stats across three decades, showcasing 89,214 passing yards and 649 touchdowns over a 23-season career, unmatched by any other quarterback.
It was meant to highlight that Brady was not hindered much, if at all, by age during his lengthy career in which he captured seven Super Bowl titles.
Brady, who turned 48 (or as some would say, twice as old as Bill Belichick’s girlfriend) on Sunday, captioned the post with an eyebrow-raising comment.
“50’s coming soon?” he wrote.

Tom Brady’s playful comment suggests he might not be entirely serious – He did, after all, add a set of looking eyes and a laughing emoji. But his history of unretiring keeps speculation alive.
It seems he’s poking fun at his own penchant for wavering on retirement toward the end of his career.
That remarkable career, including seven Super Bowl titles (six with the New England Patriots and another with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers) and five Super Bowl MVP awards, is considered untouchable by many due to its longevity and success.
Having retired for the second time, Brady is now a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders and a FOX NFL broadcaster, roles he took up after his “final” retirement in October 2024.
While he often likes to flaunt the shape he is in, Brady is unlikely to return as a 50+ year-old quarterback in the NFL.

Fox Sports lead color commentator Tom Brady would like to remind the world that he’s in top physical condition, even though he is no longer an active NFL quarterback.
Brady took to Instagram last September to post a couple of shirtless workout pictures, instantly making the rest of us feel like chumps.
“Color analysts have to stay in shape too!” he captioned his post.
Even as late as the Summer Olympics, Tom was sending a warning to the “young bucks” in the league that maybe, just maybe, he’s “still got something” for them.
Brady, though, also recently revealed the devastating toll that his football career has had on his body.
“These fingers got pretty beat up over a long period of time. See that finger?” Brady told YouTuber Nick DiGiovanni as he showed his right middle finger. “Can’t even bend that finger anymore. Torn ligament.”
“I never like to talk about injuries, I’m just a little bit old school in that way,” Brady told CBS News back in 2021. “You deal with them and you just make the most of them.”
But coming out of retirement? He sure likes to talk about that!...
