Tom Brady returned to Met Life on Sunday, but this time, he was taking things in as a spectator.
The former New England Patriots quarterback was among a few others who were spotted in President Donald Trump’s suite during the FIFA Club World Cup championship between Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.
He was also seen on the field before the game with Patriots owner Robert Kraft and Fanatics founder Michael Rubin.
Brady spoke about his relationship with the President in a 2022 interview with Variety, saying that he had not “talked to him in a lot of years.” In the past, Brady spoke highly of Trump and the two even played golf together. However, the former NFL quarterback made a telling statement about their friendship during this interview.
“I think they just mischaracterized a lot. And my personality isn’t ever one to insult anybody. I have plenty of my own flaws,” Brady told the outlet. “I’m not here to point out anyone else’s flaws. There are things that I agree with. There are things that I don’t.”
“There are things I agree with my wife about. There are things that I don’t,” he continued. “I love her to death, but we don’t always see eye to eye. I don’t see eye to eye with anyone. And I’m not responsible for what other people say. I’m really responsible for what I say. So if people want to say things that I said or that I’m about, that’s up to them, and I’m not going to respond to all those things all the time either.”
Along with Brady, New York Giants quarterback Russell Wilson and his wife Ciara were in attendance at the game, as well as Brazillian soccer legend Ronaldo.
