Tom Brady was impressed by a former New England Patriots teammate during the NFC Championship Game.

Washington Commanders specials teams coordinator Larry Izzo dialed up some aggressiveness with a fake punt during the first half against the Philadelphia Eagles, converting on a chain-moving pass.

Izzo, who played eight seasons with the New England Patriots (2001-08), then earned a boastful remark from his former Patriots teammate and current FOX broadcaster.

โ€œWow!โ€ Brady exclaimed on the broadcast. โ€œAggressive play-call here by Larry Izzo, the special teams coach, who was one of my great teammates.โ€

A linebacker who played 127 games for the Patriots, Izzo also was selected as a special teams captain during all eight of his seasons in New England.

He started coaching in the NFL two seasons after he hung up his cleats, serving as the special teams coordinator for the Houston Texans and Seattle Seahawks prior to Washington.
