Tom Brady certainly knows how to take a hit.

In fact, the former New England Patriots quarterback took a rather painful jaunt down memory lane. The seven-time Super Bowl champion released an insightful video with Brady not only reacting to some of the biggest hits he took during his 23-season career.

Brady offered some nonchalant commentary as he recounted some of the forceful hits and sacks he endured. He even poked fun at himself after watching a particularly brutal hit he took to the back after scrambling against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

“(Expletive); this one hurt. Ugh. This was brutal,” Brady explained. “This is why I didn’t run much, ladies and gentlemen. This is why the quarterbacks that do run a lot, this is not going to work out well. That was brutal.”

Even after Brady took the shot to the back, he only missed one play.

“Then I came right back in, and I threw a seam pass to Dan Graham,” Brady recalled. “Completed it and looked over at the sideline and was like, ‘(Expletive) yeah!'”

The future Hall of Famer concluded that “all of these (hits) ultimately are clean, and that’s the way football should be played.” He even admitted he put himself in a dangerous position on more than one occasion.

“Oh, the late slide. No flag,” Brady said. “Look how fast I get up. I definitely slid late. That would 100% be a penalty now in the NFL, even though I slid late.

“I mean, what’s he supposed to do? He’s supposed to knock the (expletive) out of me and try and knock the ball out. … I think there should be a rule: if they’re within five yards of you, they should be able to hit you.”

Brady also harshly criticized some current players who leave only to reenter the game uninjured.

“What I want is a tough, hard-nosed, physical game,” Brady explained. “I don’t want a game where the offense can move the ball and blame the defense for getting tackled. I feel like you have the ability to protect yourself on offense or defense.

“I guess it bothers me when (players) go in the blue tent and come out like, ‘I’m fine.’ I’m like, if you’re fine within three seconds, you could’ve got up and walked off the field, which to me shows a defeat mentality.”

Eventually, Brady refuted the notion that rules were created to protect him.

“Everyone always thought, ‘Oh, they changed the rules for you, and you were the beneficiary,'” Brady said. “I’m like, ‘What (expletive) planet are you living on?’ I got hammered.”

Hopefully, we get some of this outspoken Brady during the Super Bowl on Sunday.
