Tom Brady and Julian Edelman already were forever-bonded by the title of Super Bowl champions, a feat the pair accomplished three times together with the Patriots.
But now, the legendary duo shares a different special connection.
Edelman on Monday was revealed as the latest inductee to the Patriots Hall of Fame. The former wide receiver won a fan vote to receive the honor, which was bestowed on Brady last summer in Foxboro, Mass.
Not long after the big announcement was made, Brady took to Instagram to salute his former favorite target.
“Congratulations bubs,” Brady captioned his Instagram story, coupled with a winking emoji.
Brady was Edelman’s quarterback for all but one of the latter’s 12 seasons in New England. The all-time Patriots greats had a penchant for playing their best when the stakes were highest, including in Super Bowl LIII when Edelman received MVP honors for his brilliant performance against the Los Angeles Rams.
The details for Edelman’s Patriots Hall of Fame ceremony are to be determined. But we should not be at all surprised if Brady is on hand for the festivities.
