When it comes to legendary quarterback Tom Brady, it’s not surprise to learn that his name is all over the NFL record books.
Brady’s list of records is longer than most quarterbacks’ entire resumes. And many of his records will likely never be beaten. At least, not anytime soon.

But what if we told you that Brady also holds a strange receiving record that will likely never be beaten?
When it comes to NFL receiving records, Jerry Rice seemingly holds them all. He is to receiving records what Brady is to quarterbacking records.
And, like Brady, Rice’s greatness extended well into his 40s. The San Francisco 49ers legend caught 161 passes for 2,169 yards after hitting the age of 40. Both of which are NFL records.
But who sits second on that list? Yup, none other than Tom Brady.

In his career, Brady made just three catches for 65 yards. Only one of those catches came after turning 40 years old, and it went for just six yards.
But that is still good enough to rank second all-time behind Rice is receiving yardage for a player over 40! Marcedes Lewis checks in at No. 3 on the list with two yards, while almost everyone else to ever play in the NFL at 40 or older is tied for fourth with zero.
Hilariously, Brett Favre is fifth on the list with one catch for negative 2 yards.
Unfortunately for Brady, his most notable moment as a receiver came in Super Bowl 52 when he dropped a pass in a 41-33 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. But he’ll still always have bragging rights over every other 40-year-old not named Jerry Rice to play in the NFL.
