NFL legend and Fox Sports color commentator Tom Brady had an embarrassing flub on Sunday during the nationally televised game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys, as his mispronunciation of Landon Dickerson’s name led to an awkward moment in which it sounded like he said the N-word.
During the closing stages of the 4th quarter of the Week 12 matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys, defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa beat Eagles’ guard Landon Dickerson to bring down Jalen Hurts for a sack.
While describing the replay, Tom Brady got a bit tongue-tied and called him “Nickerson” instead of “Dickerson,” leading to the awkward viral moment.

While social media was quick to pounce on Brady for seemingly saying the N-word, what more likely happened is the the N at the end of Landon bled into Dickerson to create Nickerson. Sort of like how Steve Kerr’s son is named Nick Kerr — not even joking.

“I understand I’m a long ways from being a finished product as a broadcaster, but I really enjoy the opportunity and I am very grateful to all the people that I work with every week,” Brady told The Hollywood Reporter at the conclusion of last season.
Brady is now in his second season as Fox Sports’ lead NFL analyst and while he has shown improvement compared to his first outing in 2024, still has yet to justify the massive 10-year, $375 million contract that Fox gave him after he retired.
