Dani Marie Watt posted an interesting message on Instagram as trade rumors around her husband, TJ Watt, heat up.

On Monday, the Pittsburgh Steelers acquired All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey and tight end Jonnu Smith from the Miami Dolphins for star safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. Soon after the trade was announced, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that “multiple teams have been discussing whether they can trade for” TJ Watt.

Schefter noted that the future Hall of Famer remains disgruntled with his contract status, and that “sources believe outside team interest is likely to increase given today’s trade.”

A day before Schefter’s bombshell report, Mrs. Watt posted a pair of photos of her and TJ at a friend’s wedding with the caption, “All smiles celebrating The Rhodes💛.”

Dani played soccer for the Wisconsin Badgers and had a brief career with the Chicago Red Stars of the National Women’s Soccer League. She married TJ in 2022 and retired from soccer a year later.

Watt is entering the last season of a four-year, $112 million extension he signed with the Steelers in 2021. The market for star pass rushers has increased significantly ever since, so Watt stands to get a much higher average annual value (AAV) on his next deal, whether it comes from Pittsburgh or somewhere else.

TJ Watt’s Steelers Open 2025 Season vs. New York Jets

Watt’s Steelers will open the 2025 season against old friend Justin Fields and the New York Jets on Sept. 7. The highly-anticipated game marks Aaron Rodgers’ Pittsburgh debut, as well as a showdown against his old club.

We know Ramsey and Smith will be debuting for the Steelers as well. Will TJ Watt also be on the field for that game? Stay tuned.
