Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker T.J. Watt was fined $11,593 for a late hit in Sunday’s win over the Baltimore Ravens.

On the play, Watt jumped on top of the pile in a two-yard Derrick Henry run. He wasn’t flagged on the play. Watt was the only Steelers player to receive a fine from last Sunday’s win over the Ravens.

Watt’s $11,593 fine is the least of his worries now. Watt suffered a partially collapsed lung after undergoing a dry needling treatment session at UPMC Rooney Sports Complex on Wednesday, his brother J.J. Watt announced via social media on Friday.

Dry needling is an acupuncture-like physical therapy treatment used by physical therapists to treat pain and movement impairments.

J.J. Watt also confirmed that his brother had successful surgery to repair the damage.

T.J. Watt’s wife, Dani, also released a statement on her Instagram story after Watt completed a successful surgery to stabilize and repair a partially collapsed lung.

“Yesterday TJ completed successful surgery to stabilize and repair a partially collapsed lung suffered early Wednesday after a dry needling treatment session at the facility. It has been a very long hard couple of days but he will be home soon to recover,” Dani Watt wrote. “Thank you all for the incredible outpouring of love, prayers, and support the past couple of days. And praise God for the amazing medical teams at both hospitals! 🙏🏼❤️”

The Steelers have ruled Watt out of this week’s game against the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football, head coach Mike Tomlin announced on Friday. Tomlin said Watt has been released from the hospital and is at home resting comfortably.

Watt is expected to return for this season.
