It’s been a crazy week for the Tennessee Titans. Some thought it would be this game against the New England Patriots that would get Mike Vrabel fired. Turns out he didn’t even make it to this game. Amy Adams-Strunk couldn’t bear to watch Vrabel smoke his replacement.
The Mike McCoy era begins today. He is reportedly going to simplify the offense and lean into what rookie quarterback Cam Ward does well. You have to wonder why Brian Callahan wasn’t smart enough to do the same. Hopefully, we will see a bump in offensive performance because of it.
With all of that being said, it’s hard to see a way the Titans can play with the Patriots. Not only are the Patriots the better team, but the Titans are also missing their best weapon on offense in Calvin Ridley, and at least two, possibly three, of their top three EDGE rushers on defense. That’s not a recipe to pull off an upset.
