Music City Miracles
For the fifth straight week to open the season, the Tennessee Titans are an underdog. This week, they are a 9.5-point underdog on the road against the Arizona Cardinals over at FanDuel Sportsbook. My first thought when I saw that was, man, that’s a really big number. To put it in perspective, there are 10 games listed at FanDuel for Sunday, and only three of them have a spread of seven or bigger. The Titans are currently the biggest underdog for week five.
That’s not really a surprise, of course. Through four weeks, the Titans are pretty clearly the worst team in the NFL. We will look at power rankings tomorrow, and it is hard for me to believe that anyone will have the Titans not ranked 32nd. It’s been that bad so far.
The X-factor for this team has to be Cam Ward. He has to find a way to put this team on his back for a game and get them their first win. That’s the only way I can see them winning a game this season. That’s a lot to ask of a rookie quarterback, but that’s what happens when you are the number one overall pick.
