San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh is coming to Nashville on Monday to interview for the Tennessee Titans head coaching job. They were scheduled to have a virtual interview with him tonight. With the 49ers losing to the Seattle Seahawks last night, Saleh is free to come for an interview in-person.
Adam Schefter says that Robert Saleh is one of at least three finalists for the job. The other two on Schefter’s list include Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy and Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley. Nagy is scheduled to be in for an interview on Monday morning. Hafley is scheduled to be in on Tuesday.
Saleh has been one of my favorites for the job since Brian Callahan was fired in October. He has the ability to bring a really good staff with him, having spent so much time in San Francisco with Kyle Shanahan. One guy that could potentially be on that list is former Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel. The Titans interviewed McDaniel for the head coach job, but he is apparently not on the list of guys they want to talk to again. McDaniel will have quite a few options for an OC job.
There is a really good chance the Titans will name their next head coach before the middle of this week.
