Some good news and some bad news in today’s announcement.
The Tennessee Titans announced today that they will be switching to the light blue or “Titans blue” as their home jersey for the 2025 season. The navy blue has been the primary home jersey since they became the Titans in 1999. They didn’t introduce the Titans blue until the 2003 season. That’s the good news. It’s a better look than the navy.
The bad news is that they also announced they will not be wearing the Houston Oilers throwbacks in 2025. That’s bad on two fronts. The first and most important thing is that the Houston Texans people get really mad when the Titans wear the Oilers throwbacks. That is really fun.
The second, and least important, is that those uniforms are really cool. It has become my favorite look for the team. I don’t want them to wear it all the time, because they aren’t the Oilers, but it is fun to see it a couple of times a year.
