Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis showed a photo of his gnarly shoulder injury, one day before he goes under the knife.

Last week, news emerged that Levis will miss the entire 2025 season to undergo surgery on his throwing shoulder. Levis was expected to be the No. 2 quarterback behind rookie Cam Ward, the first overall pick of 2025 out of Miami.

Levis, who’s set to undergo surgery on Tuesday, posted a photo of the injured right shoulder on his Instagram story. And let’s just say it’s a good thing that Levis is having this repaired as soon as possible:

Levis was widely expected to be a first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, a class headlined by quarterback prospects Bryce Young (first overall to the Carolina Panthers) and CJ Stroud (second to the Houston Texans).

But in a stunning draft slide, the Kentucky product slipped out of round one. The Titans traded up via the Arizona Cardinals to select Levis with the No. 33 pick, setting up a succession plan for Ryan Tannehill.

However, Will Levis was inconsistent over his first two seasons in Tennessee, going 5-16-0 as a starter. He has thrown for 3,899 yards, 21 touchdowns and 16 interceptions in 21 game appearances.

With Levis sidelined, veterans Brandon Allen and Tim Boyle will presumably compete for the QB2 job behind Ward. Of course, it’s always possible that the Titans will sign or trade for a more proven QB to back up Ward.

Will Levis Could Use A Fresh Start In 2026

Levis has the upside and ability to be a starting quarterback in this league, but it was never meant to be in Tennessee. The Titans will probably be happy to give Levis away ahead of his contract year (they certainly won’t pick up his fifth-year option), and other QB-needy teams should bet on his potential.
