Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk clarifies front office structure

If you live in Nashville or consume Nashville media, you have heard endless discussion about the setup of the Tennessee Titans’ front office. To me, that discussion has always been much ado about nothing. Although the way the structure was communicated was pretty convoluted, it seemed pretty simple. General manager Mike Borgonzi is in charge of all things roster and coaching-related. President of Football Operations Chad Brinker handles the stuff that is more support for that stuff.

Amy Adams Strunk put out a statement today that spells that out for people who couldn’t understand it before:

So Borgonzi is leading the coaching search. That is an important clarification as we head into the first phase of the Titans’ offseason. That tells me that Matt Nagy is higher on the list right now because of his connection to Borgonzi than Mike McCarthy with his connection to Brinker.

I expect the Titans to get things rolling early next week. Those two guys, Nagy and McCarthy, will be available to interview right away, with the Chiefs being out of the playoffs and McCarthy not having a job this season. They will have to wait on any candidates who are with playoff teams that don’t have a bye.
