Once again, we examine the opening odds, and the Tennessee Titans are significant underdogs. At this point, it’s difficult to envision a scenario in which they would be favored in any game. About a month ago, I thought they might be favored when they play the New Orleans Saints — but I don’t think that anymore.
This week, the Titans head to Indianapolis to take on the Colts. They’ve opened as 14.5-point underdogs at FanDuel Sportsbook, which is easily the biggest spread on the board for Week Eight. To put it in perspective, the Miami Dolphins are only 7.5-point underdogs against the Atlanta Falcons.
With that being said, it makes sense for the Titans to be two-touchdown underdogs. They’ve only been within 14 points of their opponent in three of their seven games so far this season. As much as I hate to say it, the Colts are looking like legitimate Super Bowl contenders this year. The Titans, well… they aren’t.
In the first match-up between these two teams, Jonathan Taylor rushed for 102 yards and three touchdowns. That was with Jeffery Simmons. There’s a pretty good chance that Simmons misses this game. I’d put Taylor’s over/under in this one at 115.
Would you place any of your money on the Titans +14.5 in this spot?
