Thanks in part to numerous Will Levis lowlights this season, the Tennessee Titans are gearing up to pick No. 1 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft.
It appears the team has already landed on their choice, too, but they’re not quite ready to reveal who will become the next Titan just yet. During his introductory press conference on Wednesday, new Tennessee general manager Mike Borgonzi and president of football operations Chad Brinker alluded to a “generational talent” at the top of the Titans’ board.
The one thing we can (almost) safely say is that this means Tennessee probably isn’t interested in trading down at all. As for who the “generational talent” is here? Well, that might be a matter of perspective given how many holes the Titans currently have across the roster.
Titans President of Football Operations Chad Brinker at today’s press conference to introduce new GM Mike Borgonzi: “We won’t pass on a generational talent with the first pick in the NFL Draft.”

Quarterback is clearly a massive need here, but this year’s class is a little thin at the position. The top prospects are Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders, but neither are considered “generational talents” or even can’t-miss talents.
There’s also a chance Brinker is talking about two-way star and Heisman Trophy-winner Travis Hunter, but he’s not necessarily a cornerstone pick.
Offensive tackle Will Campbell could be a franchise building block and is worth keeping an eye on here — especially after Tennessee allowed 52 sacks in 2024 (fourth-most in the NFL). Then again, EDGE Abdul Carter out of Penn State is an absolute wrecking ball on defense and will be among the top picks, if not No. 1 overall.
Brinker may not be trying to give away too much of his thought process for now, but he’s ensured the “generational talent” label will follow whomever he takes with the top pick.
The only question is whether that will end up being a prophecy or a punchline.
