He gone!
The Tennessee Titans have finally fired Colt Anderson. It seemed like this was inevitable when it was announced they were hiring John Fassel as the new special teams coordinator, but there seemed to be rumblings from St. Thomas Sports Park that Anderson could be staying on. Jim Wyatt said today that Anderson is officially gone.
To give Anderson credit, special teams did get better as the season went along. Of course, there is only one way to go when you get a punt blocked in each of the first two games and then give up 1,482* return yards to Kalif Raymond.
In addition to Anderson being out, tight ends coach Justin Outten, cornerbacks coach Chris Harris, and special teams assistant Anthony Levine won’t be returning. All of those guys had contracts that expired after the season.
Luke Stocker, who was the assistant tight ends coach in 2024, will take over as the tight ends coach. He has been with the Titans as an assistant since 2023.
Tony Oden, who was with the New York Jets in 2024, will take over for Harris as the cornerbacks coach. He has been a coach for the past 19 seasons at various stops in the league.
Rayna Stewart was also hired to be a special teams assistant. Stewart played for the Oilers and worked for Jeff Fisher with the Titans in 2009 and 2010.
