The NFC has a crazy number of teams racing to 9-8 for that seventh and final playoff spot. Both the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers are part of a seven team scrum between 6-7 and 8-5 with two other 5-8 teams potentially still having a shot. Realistically, the winner of this game keeps their season alive and the NFC West in doubt.
Kickoff is set for Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 6:15 p.m. Mile High time at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California and will air on Prime Video.
According to FanDuel, the 49ers are 3-point favorites over the Rams. This after the Rams won in a shootout over the Buffalo Bills last week and have also won six of their last eight games. I’m not sure what gives oddsmakers the confidence that an injury-riddled 49ers squad will be able to perform well at home against a hot team like the Rams. I think L.A. takes this game and makes that Week 18 game against the Seattle Seahawks for the division.
Prediction: Rams 31, 49ers 27.
