Week 16 of the NFL season begins this evening with an AFC West intradivisional matchup. The 9 and 5, second-place Denver Broncos will travel to Southern California this week to take on the 8 and 6 third-place Los Angeles Chargers. Denver has been surging, winning their last four games, including last week's victory over the Indianapolis Colts, 31 to 13. On the other hand, the Chargers have slid a bit, coming off of two losses in a row, including last week's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, in which they were blown out 40 to 17.

Denver Broncos (9-5) 2nd AFC West @ Los Angeles Chargers (8-6) 3rd NFC West

—Week 16

  • Kickoff: 8:15 p.m. EST, Thursday, December 19th
  • Location: SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, California
  • TV: Amazon Prime
  • FANDUEL Sportsbook betting Odds: Chargers -2.5; Point total: 41.5; Moneyline: Chargers -154 | Broncos +130

-My Pick: Chargers will cover the line. While the Broncos are on a roll coming into this game, the Chargers are still a solid team and are playing at home. Both teams are tied as the best defenses in the NFL when it comes to points surrendered. The stiff defense of the Chargers will be more of an issue for Broncos rookie QB Bo Nix than the Broncos D will be for the Chargers seasoned starter, Just Herbert. I expect a close game, with the Chargers narrowly edging the Broncos this evening while just barely covering the line.
