Mason will be back next month to receive an award, while Maxx is still a viable possibility as a trade acquisition.
There have been eight players in NFL history with the last name of Crosby, and today, the two most prominent are both in the news with some connection to the Green Bay Packers.
The longest-tenured Crosby in league history, Mason, kicked for the Packers for 16 seasons and holds a dominating lead as the franchise’s all-time highest scorer. His long career in Green Bay shaped much of his life, and he and his wife Molly will be returning to Wisconsin soon to accept an award for their off-the-field work.
Meanwhile, Maxx is the sole Crosby who is still active, and he has been the subject of plenty of trade speculation in recent weeks. With the Las Vegas Raiders squarely in rebuild mode and Maxx Crosby being a valuable asset — one who will carries a huge salary cap hit — he could well be on the move. Green Bay makes a ton of sense, as Crosby has multiple connections on the Packers’ current roster and coaching staff, so the question becomes whether the Packers are interested and if they can come to an arrangement with the Raiders.
At the very least, a Crosby deal seems more plausible than a trade for Myles Garrett. But either one of those might not address the Packers’ biggest need — at least depending on who’s assessing those needs.

The Crosbys are trying to give back to those affected by cancer like they have been, and they will receive a special honor from the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation next month. Meanwhile, they have moved down to the Nashville area, where former teammates like Randall Cobb, Clay Matthews, and David Bakhtiari have all set up "Green Bay South."

That headline is speculation, but it's reasonable speculation. Meanwhile, Crosby has played 100% of defensive snaps in 23 games over the last three years, while all other defensive linemen combined have done so just seven times.
