Practice number one tells us all we need to know about this team this season. Right?
The first practice of a new season is always filled with hope and excitement, and that was certainly the case for the Green Bay Packers on Wednesday. The team began its OTA practices, which will run for a few weeks before mandatory minicamp brings a close to the spring workout program.
Naturally, the first practice of the year also brings a chance to get early impressions about how the team sees its depth chart shaping up, even as the pads are nowhere in sight. That means it’s overreaction season!
Sean Rhyan at center? That could mean something! Or maybe it means nothing and it’s just what the Packers need to do because Elgton Jenkins isn’t in the building right now. Matthew Golden taking snaps with the ones? Maybe he’s going to be a day-one starter! Or maybe the team just wants to make sure he has a handful of opportunities to start developing chemistry with Jordan Love.
Meanwhile, we have an early candidate for the Packers’ top “best shape of his life” player this offseason: linebacker Edgerrin Cooper. Apparently Cooper has bulked up to 240 pounds, but Matt LaFleur he has retained every bit of his athleticism.
Let’s get on to the information so we can start making some sweeping assumptions about how 2025 will go.

Indeed, Reed spoke to the media on Wednesday and clarified that he's not unhappy with the situation. It sounds like the recent reports of the Packers meeting with his agent (Drew Rosenhaus, whom he just hired this offseason) are nothing to worry about.

Greggs sausage roll immortalised at Madame Tussauds wax museum | BBC
The 'iconic' roll is the first food item to go on display in its own right at Madame Tussauds. The funny part is that it's so laden with preservatives, you could probably put a real one in the museum and it wouldn't go bad.
