Three injured Pittsburgh Steelers returned to action in a limited capacity of Thursday as the club continued its preparation for its Week 12 road game against the Chicago Bears.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers, running back Jaylen Warren and outside linebacker Alex Highsmith all returned to practice in a limited fashion on Thursday.

Rodgers was wearing a brace on his injured left wrist. He suffered a left wrist fracture late in the first half of Sunday’s win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Mason Rudolph replaced him that game and will start on Sunday if Rodgers is unable to play. Rodgers has not been ruled out for this week.

Warren suffered an ankle injury early in the second half against the Bengals. He was cleared to return to the game, and called his absence from the second half of the game precautionary. Warren was set to return to the game until the Steelers offense and a defensive touchdown combined to give the team a large lead late in the fourth quarter. Head coach Mike Tomlin said on Tuesday that he is optimistic about Warren being able to return this week. Kenneth Gainwell replaced him against the Bengals.

Highsmith missed last week’s game with a pectoral injury suffered the previous week against the Cincinnati Bengals. Nick Herbig has replaced Highsmith at right outside linebacker.

Left guard Isaac Seumalo was also limited. He has been limited for weeks by a nagging pec injury, but he played the entire game on Sunday.

Rookie wide receiver Ke’Shawn Williams improved from limited on Wednesday to a full participant on Thursday. Williams is in the concussion protocol after leaving Sunday’s game after the opening kickoff.

Cornerback Darius Slay and linebacker Cole Holcomb, were full participants in practice for the second day in a row. Slay missed last week while in the concussion protocol but is expected to return to the starting lineup. Holcomb has been out several weeks with an undisclosed illness.
