Niners Nation
Fooch has the strutting pony that we all have for when the San Francisco 49ers win. When things don’t go our way, I give you angry John Lynch:
If anything sums up the 49ers fans’ thoughts on their 13-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, it’s that emotion right there. That reaction happened on a third and 17, where it looked like the 49ers were going to stop the Seahawks well short of the markers. That did not happen. Instead, what happened was something we have come to know as the “Saleh Special.” A toss to Kenneth Walker:
So we have the Seahawks to thank for our new frustrating meme.
Not like anything else went much better. In fact, just about nothing after that first defensive stop went the 49ers’ way on Saturday night. The best way to sum up the difference between the two teams is the 49ers’ two opportunities for turnovers. This first one was dropped right into their lap. Sam Darnold stumbled and botched a handoff, having a ball bounce in and out of Yetur Gross-Matos’ hands.
I tried to find a video of the play, but wasn’t successful.
Another video I wasn’t able to find was a Sam Darnold pass that went in and out of his receiver’s hands, only for Renardo Green to snag it with one foot out of bounds.
Meanwhile, the Seahawks get this as their turnover:
That is a Brock Purdy pass hitting Christian McCaffrey’s hands and landing right in the arms of a Seahawks defender. It’s very adequate for this game and frustrating as well.
And John Lynch sums it all up. That reaction is something I feel we can all use going forward. That was all of us, collectively frustrated at how it happened. If any positives are coming from this game, it’s that the reaction can be used for years to come.
It was better when we were making fun of Brock Purdy doing the Dougie.
