Sports commentator Stephen A Smith recently signed a five-year deal with ESPN worth as much as $20 million annually. Now, Stephen A. is expanding his media footprint to SiriusXM as well.
During an appearance on “The Howard Stern Show,” Smith announced that he will host and executive produce two new, original shows on SiriusXM beginning this September.
Smith’s new daily sports talk show will air on Mad Dog Sports Radio on weekdays.
Coincidentally, Michelle Beadle hosts “Beadle and Decker” on Mad Dog Sports Radio on SiriusXM. The show airs weekdays from 12–3 pm ET. Beadle co-hosts with former major leaguer Cody Decker.
On Tuesday, September 2, Smith will host a daily sports show on Mad Dog Sports Radio at that time. That means Smith is pushing out Beadle and Decker.
The shows mark a return to radio and SiriusXM for Stephen A Smith, who previously hosted a Mad Dog Sports Radio show from 2013-17 produced by ESPN.
On Wednesday, Beadle and Decker decided they couldn’t keep their emotions hidden and reacted to the news that Smith had pushed them out of their timeslot.
“All I ask is to be treated with respect,” Beadle said.
During the conversation, words and statements like “Embarrassing” and “This didn’t feel good” were said.

ESPN commentator Stephen A. Smith has signed a multi-year agreement with SiriusXM that will see him hosting and executive producing two new shows.
Starting in September, Smith will host a new daily sports talk show, which will air on Mad Dog Sports Radio. The deal comes after Smith inked a new long-term deal with ESPN in March, which will see him continue to lead First Take but also allow him to pursue other deals for programming that touches politics, culture, and more.
Smith continues to be a content magnet and excels at what he does best.
Smith began his career in newspapers as a reporter and later columnist for publications, including the Winston-Salem Journal.
He moved to radio in 2005 and joined Fox Sports Radio in 2009, and spent time hosting mornings for the network before returning to ESPN in 2011.
