Here’s Penn State EDGE Abdul Carter supporting his hometown Philadelphia Eagles again, this time in response to some nonsense on IG:

Wish I could find the original post he’s responding to, but it doesn’t seem to be out there. There are a hundred NFL aggregator accounts sharing the replies on social media, but none with the actual content that started him off. Judging from context clues, he’s addressing one of the myriad bozos who think Jalen Hurts was carried by the running game and defense en route to the Super Bowl. Prepare for a full week of this.

Everyone is thinking the same thing, by the way. There’s got to be a way to get Abdul Carter in the draft. He’s a generational pass rusher, he’s from Philadelphia, and played at La Salle College High School and Penn State. You can’t find a better fit, especially since Brandon Graham is likely done and Josh Sweat is approaching 30 and does not have a long-term deal in place. The problem is that Carter is projected to go in the top five and the Eagles won’t pick until the bottom of the first round. Some of these mocks even have Carter going #1 overall to the Titans, which is wild. Before the College Football Playoff, he was mocked anywhere in that 5-10 range, but he’s skyrocketed in recent weeks.

He’s that good, which means we have to find a way to tank his draft stock. Quick! – someone tweet out a picture of him smoking from a bong! I’ll write a totally fabricated story about “character issues” in an effort to get him to fall to 31 or 32. Hopefully 32. Let’s band together and find a way to slander this young man’s name, created a draft board free fall, and make him a Bird.
