Three former members of the Pittsburgh Steelers received all-league recognition at the end of the 2025 UFL regular season on Monday, the league announced.
Former Steelers wide receiver Deon Cain and Tyler Vaughns and punter Brad Wing were all recognized as the best of the best in the spring league after a 10-game regular season.
Cain, 28, just finished his third season with the Stallions, one in the USFL and now two in the UFL. Birmingham has won back-to-back titles, with Cain winning the USFL Championship Game MVP award in 2023.
This season was his most dominant statistical performance. Playing in game games for the Stallions, he caught 29 passes for 514 yards and six touchdowns, to lead Birmingham in all three receiving categories. He finished second in the entire league in touchdowns and third in receiving yards.
Cain spent two seasons with the Steelers in 2019 and 2020, and spent time with the Buffalo Bills and Carolina Panthers in the NFL last season, but has not appeared in a regular-season game since his last with the Steelers 2020.
Vaughns, 28, is also in his third spring season, playing for the Arlington Renegades. Vaughns won an XFL title in 2023 with Arlington before the USFL-XFL merger formed the UFL in 2024.
Vaughns has been a very consistent performer in spring football. In 10 games with the Renegades this year, he caught 41 passes for 475 yards and four touchdowns. He finished fifth in the league in receiving. Over 29 regular-season games in his Arlington career, Vaughns has a total of 1,280 yards. Vaughns spent two seasons with the Steelers in 2021 and 2022, but did not play in a regular-season game.
Wing, 34, tied for the UFL lead with a 48.1 yards per punt average this season. On 35 kicks for the San Antonio Brahmas, he punted for 1,685 yards. He also had two touchbacks and a league-high 12 punts.
Wing first joined the Steelers as an undrafted free agent in 2014 and spent one season with the team before being traded to the New York Giants. He returned to the Steelers as an injury replacement in 2023. Wing is also in his third season with the Brahmas.
Vaughnsβ and Wingβs seasons have ended, with Arlington and San Antonio missing the playoffs. Cain and the Stallions finished in first place in the USFL Conference, and will host the Michigan Panthers in the conference finals. That game will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday on ABC. The DC Defenders and St. Louis Battlehawks will play at 6 p.m. on Fox in the XFL Conference.
