Also, should Cleveland have been featured on Hard Knocks?
During the offseason, Cleveland Browns fans vote in SB Nation Reacts to express their confidence level in the team or their thoughts on other topics.
As I stated when we conducted the poll, after a week of coverage saying goodbye to running back Nick Chubb, this poll represented us wrapping a bow on his exit. The first poll question, which was only asked locally to the Browns audience, asked how Cleveland fans felt about him leaving the team.
50% of fans said that even after drafting two running backs, Cleveland still should’ve re-signed him. 22% said that it was a bad decision, and Cleveland will regret it. 17% of fans said they were on the fence, but were ok with the decision. Lastly, 11% felt Chubb may never be the same, and the Browns got younger — so we didn’t need him back. It’s still a wide range of support for Chubb. It’s tough because I still wanted the team to re-sign him, but after drafting two running backs high, it wouldn’t have really done anyone any favors at that point to retain him.
On a national level, 65% of fans think that Chubb made a mistake by signing with the Texans. That result seems odd — I mean, if Cleveland didn’t want Chubb back at this point, what’s he supposed to do, just retire?
Lastly, also on a national vote, 81% of fans wish the Browns would have been on the canceled offseason Hard Knocks TV show. A big factor in that surely would have been the drama (or lackthereof) that QB Shedeur Sanders bring to an NFL franchise and the team’s quarterback competition. We have a recap of how Sanders’ first minicamp went down here.
Over at FanDuel Sportsbook, you can currently bet on whether the Browns will have over/under 3.5 wins, 5.5 wins, or 7.5 wins.
