OTAs are underway, and the Minnesota Vikings are getting an early look at the roster for the 2026-27 season. With a new batch of rookies, the club has some excitement brewing in the building. However, there seems to be one undrafted wide receiver who played for the Georgia Bulldogs who is already making a name for himself in practice.
Reports indicate that Dillon Bell, who is 22 years old, is stealing the spotlight at OTAs in Minnesota, according to Alec Lewis of The Athletic. It’s early in the process, but it sounds as though Bell is an undrafted rookie to keep an eye on throughout the remainder of the offseason.
“The Vikings held an OTAs practice today. The quarterbacks participated. But I couldn’t really take my eyes off undrafted Georgia WR Dillon Bell, who kept catching passes all over the place,” claimed Lewis.
Bell played four years at Georgia, making an appearance in 56 games during his time with the Bulldogs. However, he was in a backup role throughout his collegiate career, only surpassing 30 receptions in a single season once (43 in the 2024-25 campaign). He likely went undrafted largely due to a lack of production, finishing with 119 receptions, 1,269 yards, and 11 touchdowns at Georgia.
Former NFL wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. has been a fan of Dillon Bell since before the start of the 2026 NFL Draft. While criticizing the play of Bulldogs quarterback Gunner Stockton on his “NFL Draft Breakdowns” show on YouTube, Smith claimed that Bell flashed potential but was held back at Georgia. Smith went as far as to claim Georgia’s offense did Bell a disservice during his time with the program.
“[Dillon Bell] played a lot of different roles in [Georgia’s] offense over the last couple years, and I think it has done him a disservice,” said Smith… “This is a kid who you get him in the building, and you coach him up, he can really surprise you.”
We’ll see how things play out for Bell in Minnesota. He’s on a roster with a plethora of talent in the wide receiver room. Justin Jefferson is the outright No. 1 option, with Jordan Addison right behind him. The Vikings also signed Jauan Jennings in free agency this offseason.
