The Tennessee Titans made one of the splashiest moves of the 2026 offseason when they signed wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson to a four-year, $70 million contract. However, the veteran pass-catcher’s biggest story has little to do with money or statistics. As Robinson prepares to begin a new chapter, he will take the field wearing a different jersey number for a deeply personal reason. During an appearance on Up & Adams with Kay Adams, Robinson revealed that he is switching from No. 17 — the number he wore with the New York Giants — to No. 4 in honor of his late friend and fellow NFL receiver Rondale Moore.
The tribute adds an emotional layer to Robinson’s highly anticipated debut season with the Titans. Robinson and Moore shared similar football journeys. Both emerged from Kentucky as explosive playmakers before reaching the NFL. Robinson reportedly confirmed that wearing No. 4 this season is his way of honoring Moore’s memory and legacy.
Robinson, of course, is known for his toughness, quickness, and relentless competitiveness. Now, the jersey change represents something far greater than a simple number swap. For Tennessee, Robinson will be motivated by the opportunity to keep the memory of a close friend alive every time he steps onto the field.
Robinson’s path to becoming one of the NFL’s most productive slot receivers has been defined by resilience. As a rookie with the Giants, Robinson showed immediate promise before tearing his ACL. He returned with a strong 2023 season, then elevated his game significantly over the next two years. By the end of his New York tenure, Robinson had accumulated 268 receptions, 2,465 receiving yards, and nine touchdowns. That helped earn him his lucrative free-agent deal with Tennessee.
