We’re only three games into Sam Darnold as Seattle Seahawks quarterback, but there’s been a lot to like from the former USC star. If his debut against the San Francisco 49ers was fairly unremarkable and ended in a tough game-ending fumble, his last two games have been much better. He’s seventh in completion percentage, third in yards per attempt, and most importantly has been sacked only three times (and none against the New Orleans Saints). How often do you ever talk about a Seahawks QB with a sub-4% sack rate?
PFF grades are always a source of hot debate, but they have Darnold as the highest-graded passer entering Week 4.
Seattle is pushing the ball down the field to great success and Darnold is making the most of his opportunities while being a low-volume passer.
Our question is how you feel about Darnold through three games? Do you still need to see more? Has anything surprised you (positively or negatively) regarding how he’s performed? Is there anything that concerns you regarding Darnold and/or the offensive line? How good could Darnold become?
As is the plan for the last Wednesday of every month, The Seahawks Syndicate podcast teams up yours truly, Bryce Coutts (The Hawk’s Eye podcast and Field Gulls staff), Dan Viens (Seahawks Forever podcast and former Field Gulls podcast host), and Brandon Cain (The Hawk’s Nest podcast) to talk all things Seahawks. Darnold will be one of our main topics, but we’ve got a lot to cover in a limited time frame!
