The Seahawks Syndicate: NFC Championship Game preview and predictions

The Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams are fittingly playing for the NFC Championship Game on Sunday. In a year in which three NFC West teams made the playoffs with 12 wins, it felt inevitable that at least one would make it to Conference Championship weekend, and it’s appropriately the top two teams.

This trilogy figures to be more competitive than the Seahawks’ 41-6 drubbing over the San Francisco 49ers, but I don’t think anyone here would complain if the Seahawks somehow repeated that fear against the Rams, too. There are so many angles and points of analysis for this game, including:

• How can the Seahawks contain Matthew Stafford and that vaunted passing game?
• What can be done by Seattle to limit Puka Nacua?
• Will Sam Darnold have his career-defining moment and lead the Seahawks to a Super Bowl?
• How will the Seahawks adjust to life without Zach Charbonnet?
• Left tackle injuries: Any cause for concern for the Seahawks?
• Who will be the X-factors on the Seahawks to pull off a Conference Championship victory?

The Seahawks Syndicate podcast, hosted by yours truly, Bryce Coutts (The Hawk’s Eye podcast and Field Gulls staff), Dan Viens (Seahawks Forever podcast and former Field Gulls podcast host), and Brandon Cain (The Hawk’s Nest podcast and this episode’s host) will preview Seahawks vs. Rams and make our predictions. You can watch the live stream at 6 pm PT and we’ll probably go about two hours, but if you can’t catch us live then just watch the replay afterward without issue. There will also be a roundtable on the Seahawks’ AP NFL Honors awards nominations, along with John Schneider winning Executive of the Year.

We’ll also talk about the Senior Bowl, which is next week during the bye between Conference Championship and the Super Bowl. Bryce, Dan, and Brandon will all be live in Mobile providing coverage for their respective channels, and we’ll also have some on-site Senior Bowl stuff through Bryce for Field Gulls.
